Greece and South Africa’s tourism promoted

Alfred Setirwa, the director of Economic Empowerment and Bennet Nkani, were key representatives from South Africa. Tourism agents and deliberated, debated and expressed their concerns regarding the two countries’ tourism and also reviewed and suggested solutions to the ways the two countries could grow tourism in both countries.

A tourism seminar between South Africa and Greece was held at Saheti School on October 15.

The seminar, hosted by programme director Mr John Philippou, was attended by Mr Anastasios Liaskos, the director general of the ministry of tourism Greece, Mr and Mrs Liaskos from the chamber of hotels in Greece and Mrs Souris, who is the president of the Lyceum of Greek Women. The seminar provided a platform for travel agents and tourism operators to meet their Greek counterparts involved in tourism.

“Our intention is to also go to Greece and promote South Africa so that there is tourism increase between Greece and South Africa and vice versa,” said Mr Philippou.

The third seminar will be in Greece, where South African ministries involved in tourism will travel to the country to better develop the exchange of tourism between the two countries as well as economic development.
