Carols to benefit SAPS orphans this Friday

Project 20 currently supports 20 families of deceased SAPS members who are dire need.

The Edenvale SAPS has teamed up with the Karaglen Shopping Centre and Pizzazz Entertainment to host its first carols by candlelight this Friday, November 29.

The event will be held at the Karaglen Shopping Centre and will form part of the Karaglen Tiles 4 Change initiative.

Entrance to the event is free but donations will be accepted.

Donations of toys or food items will also be accepted and will go towards the SAPS’ Project 20, which assists widows and orphans of SAPS members.

Donations of stationary are also welcomed and will go towards the orphans’ schooling in 2014.

Project 20 currently supports 20 families of deceased SAPS members who are dire need.

SAPS Spiritual Support and Chaplains identify the families and prepare food parcels and gifts for the families.

The event will be attended by finalists in the Karaglen Karaoke competition as well as school pupils and parents who have supported the Tiles 4 Change initiative, which this year aims to support a drug-free Edenvale.

On the day, the first of thousands of names will be placed on tiles purchased since the initiative kicked off.

Over 1 000 school children have pledged to be drug-free and have been supported by hundreds of parents and businesses in Edenvale.

The carols will start at 6pm.
