A Yeoville man has been arrested for being in possession of suspected stolen property.
The incident occurred at the corner of Isipingo and Cavendish streets on November 10.
“It is alleged the suspect broke into a shop and took groceries. He gained access through the roof,” said Constable Thabo Malatji of the Yeoville SAPS.
The shop owner reported the matter to the police.
“An investigation and some information led to the arrest of the suspect in his room, where the stolen groceries were recovered,” said Const Malatji.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court, facing charges of being in possession of stolen property and burglary in a business place.
