Eight years for burglary

Mr Mathews Mabese closed the bottle store in Jules Street and returned the following day. He found the back door of the building was broken.

Eight men were sentenced to eight years for burglary on October 30.

Warrant Officer Richard Munyai, the Jeppe SAPS communications officer, said a business in Belgravia was broken into on March 20, 2012.

“Mr Mathews Mabese closed the bottle store in Jules Street and returned the following day. He found the back door of the building was broken.

“He discovered that liquor, cigarettes and other goods estimated at to be worth R45 000 were taken,” said W/O Munyai.

The victim opened a case at the Jeppe SAPS and Detective Constable Zwane investigated.

Bhekisisa Zwane, Dominic Tshabalala, Njabulo Nhlapho, Vincent Nhlengetwa, Siphosenkosi Dube, Velaphi Motuba and Lucky Shabalala were arrested in connection with the incident.

The men appeared in the Johannesburg High Court. They were all found guilty and sentenced.
