Krejcir: Bedfordview rocked by another shooting

Serbian national, Mr Veselin Laganin, was shot and killed in his house allegedly during a robbery.

Bedfordview is in the spot light again after yet another shooting.

This time Serbian national, Mr Veselin Laganin, was shot and killed in his house allegedly during a robbery.

Mr Laganin appeared in court last year alongside fellow Bedfordview resident, Mr Radovan Krejcir in connection with a robbery.

The shooting of Mr Laganin comes less than a month after Mr Sam Issa was gunned down outside Bedford Centre.

Mr Laganin’s house is situated in Wedgewood Green, a block away from the intersection where Mr Issa was shot more than 30 times.

According to reports the robbery took place at around 3am on Saturday morning.

It is believed that at least two men were involved in the robbery.

In July this year Mr Krejcir narrowly escaped a hit on his life outside his business in Bedfordview.

Bedfordview Edenvale NEWS reported earlier this year that Mr Krejcir escaped death in an attempt on his life at his diamond business property in Bradford Road on July 4.

Bedfordview SAPS corporate communications officer, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, then said that a remote controlled device fitted into a red VW Polo fired shots at Mr Krejcir’s black Mercedes Benz moments after he got out of his vehicle.

The VW Polo was parked perpendicular to Mr Krejcir’s parking bay where he had parked. As he was going towards the office door, shots were fired from the Polo towards Mr Krejcirs car, hitting the window on the drivers side and the right passenger window. The Polo caught fire after that, Sgt Nhlabathi said.
