Toastmasters discuss relatives

Laughter was shared over stories of uncles, cousins and mothers-in-law and what happens at family gatherings.

The Modderfontein Toastmasters Breakfast Club met on October 19 with the theme of Relatives.

Laughter was shared over stories of uncles, cousins and mothers-in-law and what happens at family gatherings.

The speakers for the morning were Dylan Cooke-Tonnesen, who performed his first speech about himself, James Dhlamini, who spoke about leadership and Richard Armour, who spoke about breast cancer awareness.

Richard Armour was voted, by the audience, as the best speaker of the morning.

Toastmasters is an organisation that teaches people, through a supportive environment, how to communicate, whether it be on a personal level or speaking in front of audiences with presentations. Through this programme, a person gains confidence and is able to think on their feet. Many of the organisation’s members are leaders in their workplace and community.

The Modderfontein Toastmasters Breakfast Club meetings take place at the Modder Sports Club on Casino Road, Modderfontein, on the second and fourth Saturday of the month. Breakfast is served during these meetings.
