A man was arrested for fraud on the afternoon of October 23 at a computer store.
According to the Bedfordview SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, “The man was attempting to to purchase a laptop and a bag using an American Express card. As per procedure, the cashier checked the card and established that the card was fraudulent.”
The cashier called the authorisation number and she was put through to the fraud department. The department asked her to check whether the numbers on the card and on the slip matched and she found that the numbers did not. The suspect was arrested at the store and the police were called.
