Nature reserve fencing nearly complete

The fencing of the Bill Steward Nature Reserve is now 75 percent complete.

Ward 20 Councillor, Clr Michele Clarke, said the fencing of the Bill Steward Nature Reserve is now 75 percent complete.

“Most of the fencing around the reserve has been completed. The part of the fencing that hasn’t been finalised yet is where AG De Witt and Kloof roads are being upgraded. That fencing can be finalised once the road upgrades have been completed,” said Clr Clarke.

“The Bill Steward Nature Reserve project cost R2-million last year. The entire project is in the region of R15-million, but the funding to finalise the project has been assured. I have been adamant over the years to get the nature reserve fixed because it is a pristine area, and we would like to protect it. It should be a pristine area the community can enjoy,” said Clr Clarke.
