Man hijacked at petrol station.

Vehicle was being taken to have a canopy fitted when the hijacking occurred.

A man was hijacked when robbers took off in his company’s new Ford Range bakkie after he filled up with petrol at Eastgate on September 30.

Bedfordview SAPS communications officer, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, said the vehicle was being taken to have a canopy fitted when the hijacking occurred.

“As he was preparing to pull off from the petrol station, two men, one with a gun in his hand, forced the victim to open the door. They forced him to move to the passenger seat. One of the hijackers drove the bakkie. After driving a short distance, they forced the victim out and continued driving,” said Sgt Nhlabathi.
