Anti-drug walk on Friday

Over 1 000 dignitaries, school pupils and officials will take to the streets to show their support for Edenvale’s largest anti-drug campaign on Friday.

At 9am on Friday, Baker Road will be closed to traffic as the massive Walk Against Crime heads from Horwood’s Farm to the Karaglen Shopping Centre.

At the centre, the Edenvale SAPS will launch the Tiles 4 Change campaign in conjunction with Karaglen Shopping Centre and the Edenvale Community Police Forum.

The first of hundreds of tiles will go on sale to community members and businesses who want to see a drug-free Edenvale.

Tiles will be placed at the entrance of Karaglen Shopping Centre as a testament to all those who stand with the SAPS in their fight against drugs.

Tiles for school pupils will cost R10 while adults who want to purchase a tile will pay R50.

Business tiles will cost R1 000.

All funds raised from the purchase of tiles will be donated to anti-drug campaigns.

Anyone wanting to join the walk is asked to be at Horwood’s Farm from 9am.
