The incident occurred at the corner of Durban and Bezuidenhout streets in Yeoville.
“Officers were on routine patrol when they came across a man carrying boxes containing 85 units of Danone Ultra Mel,” said Constable Thabo Malatji of the Yeoville SAPS.
When questioned about the property, he was unable to provide officers with receipts for the items. After investigating, the officers established that the items were reported as stolen in Isando.
The man tried to bribe the officers with money, which they refused, and added a charge of bribery.
“He is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon,” said Constable Malatji.
