Couple forced to watch thieves ransack house

A couple was made to watch as three men ransacked their house during a robbery in Morninghill, Bedfordview.

Bedfordview SAPS corporate communications officer, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, said the husband was re-attaching the number plate to his car when an armed man approached him on Saturday, August 24, around 1pm.

“The man pointed a gun at the home owner. Two more men then followed him. The robbers then forced him into the house. As he was opening the door to the house, one of the men grabbed his watch from his hand. The victim’s wife was inside the house when the men found her,” siad Sgt Nhlabathi.

He added that one man was left guarding the couple as the other two ransacked the house.

Sgt Nhlabathi said the men took jewellery, an undisclosed amount of money and a family vehicle before they fled the scene.
