Tip-off leads to arrest of dealer selling to kids

A man allegedly selling drugs to school children was arrested in Edenvale.

Acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts, said that man was arrested on Tuesday last week in the Avenues.

“We were acting on information received from the community,” he said.

After the man’s arrest it was discovered that he made most of his money by selling drugs to school children.

“He has been charged with dealing in narcotics and appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court on Wednesday,” Lt Col Roberts said.

By July 30, the Edenvale SAPS had made 38 other drug-related arrests in Edenvale.

“With the help of the community we are taking Edenvale’s streets back. We have had enough of drugs in Edenvale,” Lt Col Roberts said.

He also thanked the community for continuously supplying the SAPS with information.
