Hyundai sponsors cousins for Reynolds Race

Cousins Nompumelelo Kotane and Ntombifuthi Nhlapo have received a sponsorship from Hyundai Bruma in the form of a car to use in the Caxton Reynolds Race.

“When I heard that a charity was involved, I could not refuse to help,” said Mr Anil Haripersad, the Dealer Principal of Hyundai Bruma.

In addition to sponsoring the car, the company is also covering the cost of the insurance for the duration of the race. The cousins will have use of the car for seven weeks.

They have chosen the Nokwe Creative Development Foundation (NCDF) as their charity. The NCDF is the parent company of the Amajika Arts empowerment outreach for orphans and vulnerable children, schools and art centres. Currently the Light of Africa, Ms Tu Nokwe serves as the visionary for the foundation. She also serves as a patron for the Elton John Masibambane home for orphans and vulnerable children in Eldorado Park, under the Johannesburg Child Welfare.

The cousins have also spoken to Cell Find to donate an sms line in order for people to vote for them. People can sms the words “Hyundai Bruma” to 48775 in order to vote and possibly win prizes.

The sms will cost ten rand. “We will be running our own competition in order to raise funds for our charity. We will have a full-on media campaign publicising the sms competition,” said Ms Kotane. “We would like to thank all the sponsors and prize givers for giving us the edge in fulfilling our tasks.”

“As a business in the East Rand region, we believe it is important to get involved with initiatives that involve the community and charities,” concluded Mr Anil Haripersad. The winning team wins a trip to Mauritius for four, proudly sponsored by SA Reynolds Travel Centre and the winning team’s charity will receive R10 000 in vouchers from Hirsch’s. The final will be held at the Boksburg Rugby Club on September 21.
