Children play dress-up

All the preparatory schoolchildren of Rand Private Schools participated in their recent Roald Dahl Dahlicious Dress-Up Day.

From the grade R’s, many of whom were enormous crocodiles, to the whole grade 6 class and Miss Stacey Serakis who dressed up as characters from the book, Matilda, fun was had by all.

Each grade made something “Dahlicious” to eat and gave their concoctions “squirahlumptious” names.

Books by Roald Dahl were given to the pupils who won the fancy dress competition. The Roald Dahl Dahlicious Dress-Up Day is part of Rand Private School’s ongoing drive to promote reading and the value of books.

It was also linked to Rand Private School’s concert, Red Riding Hood, which is based on one of Roald Dahl’s “Revolting Rhymes”, and starred Fisokuhle Vilakazi as Red Riding Hood, Carnia Adams as Grandma and Bohlokwa Mokone as The Big Bad Wolf.
