Acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts, said that security guards at the centre saw the men and contacted the SAPS.
“Members of the Equestrian Unit and sector police vehicles were dispatched to the shopping centre,” Lt Col Roberts said.
The men were caught and detained before they could flee.
The men were found in possession of a number of stolen bank cards.
“Thank you to the security at Karaglen Shopping Centre for being alert. Without the help of the security personnel these three men would have got away with other people’s money,” Lt Col Roberts said.
