Bedfordview SAPS communications officer, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, said a man had withdrawn money from the ATM at the shopping centre. As he was walking out, a man acted as if he was picking up something in front of him.
“The man told him that he had just picked up a lump sum of money and he wanted them to share it. He told him to go with him to an isolated area. As they were walking past a white VW Jetta 4 which had its doors open and three men in it, one of its occupants grabbed him. Forcing him into the car. The other man also got in. The men robbed him of the money he had just withdrawn. They then forced him out of the car,” Sgt Nhlabathi said.
