Bedfordview SAPS corporate communications officer, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, said two men grabbed the husband just after he parked his car in his property.
“The men asked the husband who was in the house. He told them that it was his wife. They took him to the back of the house. Two more men appeared and went into the house and came out with the wife. They put them in the shack at the back of the house. The men later took the couple into the house where they were ordered to sit on the sofa as the men were looting,” Sgt Nhlabathi said.
He added that the men stole a television set, the wife’s ring, the family car and an undisclosed amount of cash before they locked the couple into the bathroom.
He said the men then fled the scene.
