Woman arrested for dealing in drugs

A woman was arrested in Cyrildene on July 7 for dealing in drugs.

Constable Mpho Mashakane, Cleveland SAPS communications officer, said police officers from the national intelligence unit received information about a woman selling drugs in Aida Street.

They went to the house and a woman was there. The officers searched the premises and found 19 plastic bags containing tablets believed to be drugs. They also found plastic bags used to pack drugs, lighters, a scale and stove. It is believed that the scale was used to weigh the drugs and the stove to make the drugs.

The woman (34) was arrested and detained at Cleveland SAPS.

Police officers also found people with drugs in Malvern last week.

Const Mashakane said police officers who were patrolling the suburb on Tuesday last week searched a stall owner at the corner of Jules and Reimers streets. Police officers found dagga in a plastic bag. The man (45), was arrested.

A man was also arrested for possession of drugs during a stop-and-search operation on Wednesday in Jules Street.
