Bedfordview SAPS corporate communications officer, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, said the owner of the house called the police to report the death of his domestic worker.
On arrival the house owner took the police to the domestic workers room which she shared with her boyfriend. Police found her lying in a pool of blood.
“When checking we found several stab wounds on her body, Sgt Nhlabathi said.
He added that the woman was certified dead at the scene by paramedics.
Sgt Nhlabathi said that the man surrendered himself to the Cleveland Police the day after the incident.
The case is being investigated by the Bedfordview SAPS, Sgt Nhlabathi said.
He said the man will be remanded in custody until his next court appearance.
