St Dunstan’s takes first at St Andrew’s Netball Festival

Despite unpredictable weather, all four days were well supported and the sportsmanship between the players was truly commendable.

The 15th annual St Andrew’s Netball Festival took place from April 6 to April 9.

Thirty two first teams from schools across the country, along with their coaches, managers and some South African graded umpires, participated in the event.

Despite unpredictable weather, all four days were well supported and the sportsmanship between the players was truly commendable. An impressive 7 234 goals were scored over the four days.

The 32 teams were divided into four randomly mixed pools.

On Thursday and Friday the pool matches were completed. On Saturday and Sunday, all 32 teams played in their respective cross-pool categories according to the results of the pool matches.

St Dunstan’s College and Edenvale High School found themselves in the Championship Final on Sunday afternoon, after three successful days of netball.

After an exciting game, St Dunstan’s College emerged victorious after beating a tough Edenvale High School team 24-14, resulting in St Dunstan’s College winning the overall festival.
