Edenvale baseball teams shine at Pat McKinon Baseball Tournament

"Overall the tournamnet was great, we were so lucky to have so many games played on the day,"

The Pat McKinon Baseball Tournament held at the Edenvale Sports Grounds saw a number of teams face off against each other.

The tournament held on March 4 and 5 boasted a total number of 250 players from various age groups.

“Overall the tournament was great. We were so lucky to have so many games played on the day,” said Mr McKinon, former chairperson of the Giants and Imps Baseball Club.

He said the tournament was a day of friendly competition between various clubs.

The annual tournament was hosted to honour Mr McKinon for the role he has played in the club over the years.

The U/12 tournament was won by the Imps from the Giants and Imps Baseball Club in Edenvale.

Dakota from the Indians Baseball Club in Benoni won the U/15 tournament and the Giants, also from the Giants and Imps Baseball Club, took first place in the senior tournament.
