Community members enjoy a morning of bowls

"The Edenvale Bowling Club is one of the few clubs in Gauteng to offer training like this in such an organised fashion."

On the morning of January 28, a group of community members attended a bowls training clinic hosted by the Edenvale Bowling Club.

The event, which is held every Saturday morning, gives community members the opportunity to try the sport to see if they enjoy it.

Mr Brian Sayce, a convener of Bowls South Africa Coaching, said the practice is free and open to all potential bowlers.

“Community members must come and try it out. If they like it they must join the club,” said Mr Sayce.

Mr Malcolm Bye, vice president of the Edenvale Bowling Club, said the training is conducted by qualified trainers.

“The Edenvale Bowling Club is one of the few clubs in Gauteng to offer training like this in such an organised fashion,” said Mr Bye.

He said the training sessions are being held to attract new members.

To find out more information about the training, phone the club on 011 452-6799.
