Jeppe athletes rewarded

The Jeppe Quondam Athletics Club held its annual awards evening on July 2 to acknowledge the achievements of its members over the past 12 months.

The various sections that were acknowledged included the Comrades, Two Oceans, Iron Man, Running and Triathlon events, Walking and Fledglings (beginner running group).

“I feel happy about the turnout of the people and the effort that people have gone to,” said Jeppe Quondam Athletics Club secretary Kim Pain.

Craig Cooke-Tonnesen received a Bullman Trophy, Declan Kavanagh received an FOS Trophy and Ann Thom received a Madala Trophy.

Two Oceans Run of the Day was awarded to Craig Goslin, with first woman runner awarded to Jeanine Humphrey and first man runner home awarded to Themba Malgas.

Blue number awards went to Rozzane Long and William Loxton.

Comrades

Darren Portela was awarded the Comrades Run of the Day prize, with the Comrades Gunga Din Award going to Dionella Cimato, Debbie Teixeira and Kim Pain.

Comrades Individual Prediction was awarded to Craig Cooke-Tonnesen.

First Novice Woman was awarded to Joanne Roelofsz and the First Novice Man went to Greatman Matau.

The First Woman Home prize went to Candice Humphrey and the First Man Home award went to Themba Malgas.

Green numbers were awarded to Ria Botha, Peter McCann, Joe Mtimunye and the Spirit of Comrades award went to Peter McCann.

Survivor of the Year was awarded to Graeme Carrington.

The Novice Triathlete of the Year was awarded to Jayrd Otto and Richard Payne was the recipient of the Triathlete of the Year and the Most Outstanding Tri Du Performance awards.

Ironman 10 awards went to Marcello Gnudi and Richard Payne.

Clubman of the Year was awarded to Brad Michalaro.
