Women celebrate with a day of bowls

Bowling tournament raises money for cancer.

The tournament was enjoyed by the ladies who took part.

The Bedfordview Bowling Club, in conjunction with Campaign for Cancer, held a fun day of bowls for women on Women’s Day, August 9.

24 teams from around Gauteng were invited to participate in the tournament.

The charity tournament is hosted every two years to raise funds for Campaign for Cancer.

The day was filled with young and old women who enjoyed a day of bowls.

“The women had fun and they have been supportive of the tournament. Just coming together as women and enjoying a day of bowling with family and friends is great,” said Kathy Venter.

One of the young players, Tracy Lee Botha, was pleased to enjoy a day of bowls in support of a good cause.

“I’m happy to be here. I started playing at young age and it is a wonderful sport,” said Kathy.

Tracy Lee Botha was one the young women who participated in the tournament.

Some of the women who enjoyed taking part in the event.

Family and friends came out in large numbers to support the tournament.

The tournament involved young and old. Men were also invited to support the event.

The tournament was hosted in conjunction with Campaigning for Cancer.

Young and old ladies dressed in they pink to show their support for the campaign.
