Limpopo FC beat Juventus FC

Malvern’s Juventus Football Club was defeated in the semi-finals of the Friendly Weekend Tournament by a single goal after losing 4-3 to the Limpopo Football Club.

The match was played at the Rhodes Park Sports Grounds on Sunday, June 1. Limpopo FC was the dominant team in the match, with Juventus FC keeping little possession and playing deep.

Limpopo FC’s dominance paid off when they opened the scoring with a header.

The match ended 1-0 at half time.

The second half saw a flurry of goals as the two teams went on the offensive, leaving few players at the back. The offensive play left gaps in both the teams’ defences. Both teams concede a goal 10 minutes apart.

With the score at 2-1, Juventus FC managed to equalise after a good passage of play. Sloppy defending by Limpopo FC handed Juventus FC their third goal.

The match looked to be in Juventus FC’s grip, however Limpopo FC went on the offensive in the last 10 minutes of the game. The Limpopo FC side equalised in the last five minutes of the game and then stole the match winner in injury time to make it a final score of 4-3.
