Killers defeat Saders

he Tool Saders won the toss and elected to bat first, a decision which favoured their opposition.

There was plenty of action on the cricket field when the Tool Saders took on the ACS Hydromine DreamKillers on Saturday, February 8.

The two teams play in the Bedfordview Last Man Stands (LMS) league.

The Tool Saders won the toss and elected to bat first, a decision which favoured their opposition.

The DreamKillers took several quick wickets to restrict the Tool Saders to just 93 runs all out after 15.4 overs.

Bowler Andre Schultz took four wickets in four overs for just 13 runs to give him a bowling ecomony of just over three.

He was backed up by fellow team-mates, Riaan Pienaar and Gideon Hoffman, who each took two wickets.

The top performing Tool Saders batsmen were Johan van Greunen who scored 21 runs and Royhan Jacobs who made 23 runs.

During their batting innings, the DreamKillers secured the win with a 50 not out from Andre Schultz and a 33 not out from Malcolm Gower.

The DreamKillers scored 94 runs in 15.4 overs for the loss of only one wicket.

The seven wicket win over the Tool Saders gave the DreamKillers a bonus point.

Andre was named man of the match for his all-round performance with the bat and ball.

“The boys performed well on the field. The wicket definitely favoured the batsmen but we stayed positive and kept the bowling and fielding tight,” said DreamKillers’ captain, Dale Gower.

He added that the team’s batting performance was exceptional.

“We had a strong line up with the bat and knew it would work in our favour,” said Dale.
