The theme of the fair is Reading the word and the world: the role of book clubs.
The guest of the book fair is author, artist, composer and film-maker Zakes Mda.
The fair aims to build a culture of reading and writing in all South African languages among people of all ages. It creates readers and writers through linking the “the word” to among others, music, art, literature, graffiti, print and digital media, film and culture.
