Five guns taken during Bedfordview house robbery

Five firearms were stolen during a house robbery on Wednesday, July 10 after 12noon.

Bedfordview SAPS corporate communications officer, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, said that a domestic worker was busy at the washing line when two persons told her that they were sent to do work at the property.

“She told them that the property owner was not available and that he did not tell her of any people who would come to do some work on that day. As she was busy with her washing, she heard a loud bang from the gate,” Sgt Nhlabathi said.

Sgt Nhlabathi added that four men entered, grabbed the woman and pushed her into the house.

“They ransacked the house and stole jewellery, cash and five firearms before they fled the scene,” Sgt Nhlabathi said.

He said the men fled in a white Bantam.
