Over the years and once the village was built, residents planted a variety of trees and beautiful flowering plants, converting the area into charming individually designed sections of tranquillity.

Jackie explained that the village is not a place with large sprawling lawns and large trees.

The gardens vary in size; some residents have created vegetable garden patches, while portions of other gardens are paved.

As Quondam Village is pet-friendly most of the gardens are fenced.

Jackie said during the Gardens of the Golden City event some residents may not open their gates. These gardens can still be viewed over the fences.
