Youth desk of Bedforview SAPS undergoes training

According to the Bedfordview SAPS communication officer, Sergeant Lillian Modiga, the training focused on personal development, leadership, the SAPS’ youth strategies and the Youth Crime Prevention Desk’s structure and background.

The Bedfordview SAPS Youth Crime Prevention Desk did training on August 29.

Nosipho Hani, the founder of Hani Youth Development at the Bedfordview SAPS – Mandela room, conducted the session.

According to the Bedfordview SAPS communication officer, Sergeant Lillian Modiga, the training focused on four key elements – personal development, leadership, the SAPS’ youth strategies and the Youth Crime Desk’s structure and background.

“Hani conducted a comprehensive training programme for the Bedfordview SAPS Youth Crime Prevention Desk volunteers.

The volunteers learnt essential life skills and self-awareness to enhance effectiveness in their roles.

“The training emphasised leadership qualities, enabling volunteers to guide and inspire their peers in crime prevention efforts,” explained Modiga.

Volunteers gained an understanding of the SAPS’ youth strategies and relevant legal frameworks to inform their work.

They were familiarised with the structure, history, and objectives of the Youth Crime Prevention Desk.

“Through this comprehensive training, Hani empowered the volunteers to become effective agents of change in their communities, contributing significantly to crime prevention efforts,” added Modiga.
