Pieter’s experience and success as a player have paved the way for his coaching career, which spans over 13 years.

During this time, he has nurtured and developed numerous top junior players, from national champions to top 10 and top 20 players in South Africa.

“Tennis has been my passion from day one.

“It teaches you about life, discipline and hard work,” explained Becker.

Becker, the author of an e-book Tennis: Not just a sport, but a way of life, said he is excited to join the Bedfordview tennis community.

He said the HPTA is ready to bring a new level of excellence to Jeppe tennis.

“With seven certified coaches on board, they are a team of experts passionate about taking tennis to the next level.

“Now, with the academy coming to Jeppe Quondam, you have the opportunity to receive high-level coaching, regardless of your age or level of expertise.”

He said having the courts unoccupied all week and people not benefiting from it is a waste.

“With an academy here, the courts are occupied full time and people get the benefit of the tennis and the experience.”

He added the club looks forward to working with the academy.
