Bedfordview police confiscate illegal items at local school

Police conducted a surprise search at Sizwe Secondary School.

As part of the campaign to fight drugs and bullying in schools, the Bedfordview SAPS visited Sizwe Secondary School on March 7.

Sergeant Lillian Modiga, corporate communications officer at Bedfordview SAPS, said during the search they confiscated illegal substances and dangerous weapons.

She said the random search is part of the school safety programme aimed at removing drugs and dangerous weapons from the schools.

“The campaign yielded positive results and we are working with school management to fight the criminal element,” she said.
