Edenvale police continue to improve relations with community

The Edenvale SAPS again strengthened ties with the community when the members honoured an invitation to a stakeholder engagement meeting extended to the station.

Present at the meeting, held at the start of this month, were representatives from the City of Ekurhuleni, the EMPD and the community

The Edenvale Police Station communications officer, Warrant Officer Jacob Mashile, said the meeting was held to discuss issues around capacity building.

Topics addressed included the illegal occupation of buildings, illegal immigrants and crimes of concern to the community.

Representing the SAPS was operational commander Captain Patrick Msimango and Mashile.

“Through discussions, it was agreed that joint operations would be held to tackle building hijackings, undocumented immigrants and vagrants around Edenvale,” said Mashile.

The Edenvale SAPS station commander, Colonel Ntombomzi Basholo, welcomed the initiative and called for further engagement with the community.
