Germiston learner honoured best rugby player

Tshepiso Mgibanyoni from Vryburger High School and rugby team captain was recently named the best rugby player of the year during the school awards ceremony.

The Grade 12 learner walked away with two certificates and was presented with a trophy.
For his participation in school sports, he received gold and silver scroll certificates for rugby and soccer respectively.
“I was excited hearing my name being called. I started playing sports in primary school and it shows how much sports can contribute to one in terms of discipline because I used to be naughty,” said Tshepiso.
“Throughout the year I was able to lead my rugby team to the finals of the Lions League.

“Although I was not able to compete in the finals and we lost, I still commend the strength and dedication shown by my teammates throughout the competition.
“This was a great year for Vryburger as far as rugby is concerned,” said Tshepiso.
“My dream is to play on a professional level. I also want to study towards becoming a chemical engineer,” said Tshepiso.
