Cleveland police interact with Reddam learners

“The officers spoke to the children about substance abuse, bullying, peer pressure and other offences against women and children as well as the consequences."

SAPS members conducted an educational talk and exhibition when they visited Reddam House Private School in Kensington.

Cleveland Police Station’s communications officer Johan Jordaan said Warrant Officer Crouse and Sergeant Monwana from Cleaveland SAPS Social Crime Prevention Unit visited the school.

They were joined by Warrant Officer Botha and Constable Adams from Johannesburg SAPS Dog Unit, Warrant Officer Nedzata, Sergeant Kumede, Constable Nkina and Constable Peters from the Johannesburg Mounted Unit and Sergeant Mtswamere of Hillbrow Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit who also spoke to Grade Seven learners.

“The officers gave talks on substance abuse, bullying, peer pressure and other offences against women and children as well as its consequences,” said Jordaan.

He said the various units conducted an exhibition at the school to showcase the capabilities of the dogs and horses and what the animals are used for in the SAPS.
