Soccer fun had in Edenvale during the annual tournament

The tournament was first held in 2016 to create awareness about cancer.

Eighty-five teams took to the field when Edenvale Football Club (EFC) hosted its annual pink tournament.

Held over October 8 and 9 at Edenvale sports grounds, the event was held to raise funds for the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) and the club.

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, this was the first time that the non-competitive tournament was held since 2019.

Organised by EFC chairperson Tony Dias and the club’s committee, the tournament was first held in 2016 to create awareness about cancer.

Dias said the event ran well and exceeded the club’s expectations.
