Suspect to appear in Ekurhuleni court for shoot-out with police
The 28-year-old suspect was arrested on three charges following a shootout with police on corner Pretoria Road and R25 in Kempton Park.
A 28-year-old suspect is expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on charges of attempted murder, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition and business robbery.

According to Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego, this follows an alleged shoot-out between the suspect and police on August 2.
“Members of Ekurhuleni Public Order Policing Unit were on duty patrolling when they received a complaint of suspects that allegedly committed a business robbery at Slotjhile Pub & Shisanyama in Esselen Park,” said Ditshego.
“The description of the vehicle that was driven by the suspects was given to police.”
The vehicle was allegedly spotted later on Pretoria Road.
“While patrolling around Pretoria Road and R25, police saw the car that matched the description of the vehicle and closed in,” said Ditshego.
“The suspect started shooting at police and the police retaliated.
“One suspect was wounded. The suspect was found with three unlicensed firearms and ammunition. All the serial numbers were filled off and he was arrested.”
The suspect is under police guard in the hospital.
