The campaign launches in early June each year and ends on October 31, so there is still plenty of time to plan an event.

Cuppas can be arranged to coincide with special events or public holidays but can be hosted at any time of year (although Cuppa host materials, usually provided during campaign time, may then not be available).

According to the Cuppa for Cansa website (cuppa.org.za), anyone can host a Cuppa for Cansa – corporates, organisations, schools or individuals.

Cansa Care Centres also host Cuppa events.

The planning of a Cuppa is entirely up to the host and there is no limit to the number of people you can invite.

Hosts can let their imaginations run wild and not only tea has to be served! Incorporate healthy smoothies, soup or juices on your menu.

Guests are expected to make a donation to Cansa and these donations are collected by the host and handed over to Cansa.

Cansa is committed to connecting people facing cancer with information, day-to-day help and the emotional support they need in the communities where they live.

They aim to ensure that cancer survivors and their loved ones don’t have to face cancer alone.

The community’s support helps Cansa to continue the fight against cancer in South Africa and brings us closer to the challenge of a cancer-free society within our generation.

Find out everything you need to know about hosting a Cuppa for Cansa at cuppa.org.za – there is even an exciting competition for hosts on the website.

So, invite some friends around, put the kettle on and get planning!
