Community gather at St Benedict’s College for band entertainment

Besides enjoying the sounds of the pipes and the beating of drums visitors had the chance to enjoy a market, beer tent and the food on offer.

Community members were seen out and about when they attended the recent St Benedict’s College gathering on July 16.

Hosted by the Pipe Band Association of South Africa in collaboration with the school, the day was a fun day out for all as pipe bands and highland dancers amassed.

Besides enjoying the sounds of the pipes and the beating of drums, visitors had the chance to enjoy a market, beer tent and the food on offer.

Pipe bands represented at the event included Jeppe, SA Irish, St Benedict’s, Kempton Park, King Edward VII, Transvaal Scottish, Benoni, Benoni MacTalla, Pretoria Boys, De La Salle Combined, Knysna and Districts.
