Crime concerns raised in Edenvale

Community stakeholders came together for a meeting at Edenvale Police Station where they discussed crime-related concerns.

Held on July 12, management of Edenvale SAPS, EMPD, Home Affairs, Edenvale CPF, Edenvale City Improvement District and other stakeholders were present.

Edenvale SAPS communications officer Sergeant Jacob Mashile said representatives discussed the prevention of crime and various crime prevention initiatives available to the community.

“Discussions about the investigation of dockets and the outcomes of case dockets were also on the agenda,” said Mashile.

Edenvale Police Station’s station commander Colonel Ntombomzi Basholo highlighted the challenges the police and community faced in the past while bringing attention to the initiative and resolutions taken to create awareness in the community.

She emphasised that policing should be a point on the agenda of all sector forum meetings.

Expanding on this, the sectors were encouraged to create sector profiles under the Edenvale CPF to assist the police.
Mashile said the sector profiles will be provided to police during their visits.

“We appreciate the engagement and partnership that will contribute to the safer Edenvale,” said Basholo.
