Bedfordview troop wins Scouts pioneering competition
Pioneering projects are judged on design, the correctness and tightness of lashings.
The Northrand District recently held its annual pioneering competition, with teams competing to build a tower with a drawbridge that would enable it to link up to other towers.

The event was held at the 1st Hellenic Scout Hall where the 1st Bedfordview Troop won the coveted trophy.
A skilled pioneer can build bridges, towers, catapults, rafts and other objects with ropes and poles – no nails, screws or other fasteners are allowed.
Pioneering projects are judged on their design, the correctness and tightness of lashings, as well as adherence to safety protocols and leadership.
