Casa Serena is a retirement home with an Italian flair in Essexwold next to the Italian Club. All nationalities are welcome.

The home has qualified nursing personnel and offers assisted care and frail care.

It offers single or double rooms with private bathrooms. Casa Serena is also wheelchair friendly throughout its property.

Casa Serena’s general manager Giuseppe Berinato said the home has ample natural light, making it a bright and sunny place for residents.

It provides three Mediterranean-styled meals a day besides providing morning and afternoon tea or coffee.

Laundry and room services are all included.

Besides providing long-term residential stays, Casa Serena caters to short stays too.

“If families need to go away for some time, they can leave their loved ones in the care of Casa Serena, giving you peace of mind knowing they are taken good care of,” said Giuseppe.

The home offers an entertainment hall where residents can socialise, play games, watch movies or just relax.

Covid-19 protocols are observed throughout.

Festivities like Christmas, New Years’, Easter, Mother’s and Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day and public holidays are all celebrated.

Giuseppe said during the global Covid-19 pandemic, the management of Casa Serena made the health and safety of its residents its top priority.

“We are guided by the health department and have followed government regulations during the various levels of lockdown,” he explained.

“Healthcare professionals regularly inspect and guide us and therefore update our Covid-19 protocols accordingly.”

The departments of social welfare and health advise the home on the procedure and administration of vaccines as soon as they are available, with the consent of each of the home’s residents.

Giuseppe said during these troubled times, Casa Serena remains an island of tranquility.
