Art teacher to host demonstration at Edenvale Community Centre

Margaret has taught art for over 30 years, in all mediums ranging from watercolour, oil, to acrylic and pastel.

After months of cancellations, Paint and Palette Group will start hosting art demonstrations with Edenvale artist and teacher, Margaret de Bree.

The demonstration will be held at Edenvale Community Centre on October 16 and will start at 09:30 for 10:00.

Margaret’s passion for art started when she was 10 years old.

With her father’s encouragement, she studied Fine Arts at the Technikon in Bloemfontein.

They moved to Edenvale where she worked as a draughtswoman.

With her children at school, she took up her brushes again and never looked back.

In her own words, “I eat, dream and live art.”

Margaret has taught art for over 30 years, in all mediums ranging from watercolour, oil, to acrylic and pastel.

Many of her students have gone on to be professional artists themselves.

She also achieved an associate from and been a judge for the Watercolour Society of South Africa.

She has taken part in numerous exhibitions all over SA and her paintings hang in private collections in Australia, England, Holland and SA.

The day’s proceedings are as follows:
09:30 to 10:00 – entry

10:00 to 12:00 – demonstration

12:00 to 15:30 – paint together session

Painters will be set up in a circle in the hall to paint. Each person will be provided with a table, however, those interested will need to bring their own easel, materials, cool drinks/flask and packed lunch.

Painters can either try what has just been demonstrated or carry on with what they are already busy with.

Entrance fee is R50 for visitors and R20 for members.
