Learners encouraged to make a green impact

She spoke about being mindful of our actions towards the environment and each other, highlighting the vital connection between people and planet.

Saheti School learners had the opportunity to meet Miss Earth South Africa Mpume Maduna during Recycle Week (September 20-26).

She spoke about being mindful of our actions towards the environment and each other, highlighting the vital connection between people and the planet.

She emphasised that we need to work hard by looking after the community and immediate environment.

Mpume also visited Saheti’s recycling station, which is supported by learners, their families and the community at large.

She encouraged the school to make a green impact every day.

“It starts with recycling and you get inspired and energized to do more. Cut those mask strings before you dispose of them, use a reusable straw and cup, recycle, reduce and let’s all respect

Mother Earth. It starts with each one of us making a commitment to people and the planet.”
