This year for Mandela Day, learners and staff made jars of hope to deliver to various charities around Johannesburg.

Covid-19 has had a direct impact on the lives of many.

The winter weather adds to their strife, both physically and mentally.

Being given a jar of soup ingredients that can provide a meal for four to eight people could offer some solace and hope and might even bring a smile to their faces.

While adhering to the Covid-19 regulations, the learners and staff from the campuses made enough jars of hope to feed 6 300 people.

Jars were donated to:
• Beacon of Hope
• Ubuhle Bezwe
• Ukwakha Isizwe
• Eastgate Primary School

In addition, and as part of the school’s Mandela Day efforts, Reddam House Bedfordview started a KZN relief drive to help those who had been badly affected by the recent riots and looting.

The Reddam Bedfordview family collected and sent more than 1 600kg worth of food items to Empangheni in KZN.
