Turb hopes to inspire others

“I want this song to awaken something in the people who listen to it.”

Edenvale-based artist Anold ‘Turb’ Sibanda recently released his first single after embarking on his musical career.

The rapper released his single, Ngizobuyo, which means I’ll be back in Zulu, on August 13.

The track was produced with the assistance of Draulic G and Pastor Piano.

“Draulic G made the beat and it took me about a week to write the song. Then with Pastor Piano it took another month to master the song.”

The 22-year-old rapper said his single is all about hustling and working to get the life you want.

“The lyrics talk about making money to not only improve and uplift your own life but the life of your family,” explained Anold.

He said the song talks about doing whatever it takes to reach your goal, even if it means leaving your family and returning once you have achieved it.

“I’m telling people that so long as they can use their hands and have the will to do it, they can do anything,” said Anold.

He said although the song might appeal more to the youth, most music people who enjoy rap will understand and enjoy the lyrics.

When the NEWS first spoke to Anold in 2020, he said he hopes to create music that provokes thought.

He believes Ngizobuyo does this.

“I want this song to awaken something in the people who listen to it.”

Anold said in life, nobody is going to do it for you, you have to make it happen yourself.

Ngizobuyo will form part of his extended-play (EP) album Love Dem.

Before the end of August, Anold hopes to release his second single of the EP, Mpilo Yam, which means my life in Xhosa.

Mpilo Yam will include the artistic work of Kensington rapper Biso.

Since Ngizobuyo’s release, Anold said the reception has been positive.

“It’s been crazy loud,” he highlighted.

Ngizobuyo is available on all popular music streaming platforms.
