Ekurhuleni’s cemetery operations remain unchanged under adjusted level three
Ekurhuleni's spokesperson urges residents to follow Covid-19 preventative measures in burial sites.
Following President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement on July 25 that the country will move to adjusted alert level three, City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) urged residents to follow the implemented operational measures to prevent Covid-19 from spreading during burials.
“Restrictions to access the city’s cemeteries remain unchanged under adjusted alert level three.
“Residents must continue sanitising their hands, maintaining a safe social distance and always wear their masks,” said CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini

The following measures are in place:
• Burials will take place seven days a week, including Sundays and public holidays.
• A maximum number of people allowed per funeral is 50.
• A maximum number of burials that can take place a day per cemetery is 14.
