The Springbok Award is the culmination of seven years of scouting and is achieved by less than 1% of Scouts.

As part of the award, candidates need to plan and run a 40-hour community service project, plan and run a 30km three-day hike, plan and manage a major project and plan and run a camp for younger scouts.

Between them, the candidates undertook a variety of projects. This included a float-plane raft to a camp training underprivileged scouts from townships to a hike exploring the Spioenkop

Battlefield and a three-storey tower built with ropes, poles and no nails, bolts or similar fasteners.
