Community takes action to clean municipal property

They removed 482 black bags filled with garden refuse and litter, which was cleared from the property.

Community members, learners, businesses and representatives from the City of Ekurhuleni descended on Edenvale Licensing Department to clean up the property.

Residents from Edenvale, Primrose, Kempton Park, Bedfordview and other areas, who were part of the Move One Million movement, were assisted by 92 Edenvale High School learners when they removed 482 black bags filled with garden refuse and litter.

The event was held by the movement as part of a campaign to collect one million bags of trash.

The group was assisted by Edenvale Fire Station who conducted a controlled burn-to-burn of a portion of the vegetation.

Community involvement did not stop there as businesses, such as Glenvale Fruit and Veg, Build It, Around the Block Driving, Hard Hat Plant Hire, SOS Security and McDonald’s got involved and assisted with the clean-up.
